PERSONLA BRANDING-RIAN

There is no bigger complement for a photographer, than a returning customer. Rian is such a customer. When she told me that she needed photographs for her new website, I was over the moon. The connection and trust we have developed during, and since her last shoot really helped us to tell her story, and create stunning images for her new website.

Rian is a woman of many talents. She is an actor, a budding musician, trainer, and coach. Her specialization is in helping individuals, and companies reach their uppermost potential. She uses her acting skills in her sessions to simulate various scenarios. Thereby, helping her clients deal with a wide range of scenarios.

SELFIE

When I see these images, I get butterflies in my tummy. I look so strong and fearless. Is this really me? For a long time, I hesitated in posting these images, because seeing yourself in this way can be confronting. I did not expect to see this look in my eyes, when I set out to photograph myself. It perfectly conveys how I have been feeling lately. I completely understand the hesitation women feel, when it comes to being photographed. It can awaken many uncomfortable feelings. For a long time I gave in to those feelings, then I read this quote “everything you want is on the other side of fear”. I think it is time we stopped hiding from the camera, and stand strong and confident in who we are.  It is so important to exist in photographs, not only for yourself but also for your loved ones.

MAGDA

It is always so much fun to photograph people who are passionate about what they do, and this beautiful woman is on fire. Magda is a face yoga instructor who is getting ready to launch her new company. I asked her to write a few words about what she does:  

I want to focus on helping busy women realise that their true power, potential and beauty come from within.

I deeply believe that we as women have the right to choose and unapologetically be who we truly are, or whom we want to be, but for some reason we do not allow ourselves. We don’t have to live up to society standards. We shouldn't limit ourselves by our "typical" roles set by culture, religion, our families, age, background etc. We should be allowed to make a choice.

At the end of the day, it's never about the wrinkles, droopy eyelids, or sagging cheeks. It's about the feeling of losing something, sometimes even ourselves.

Face yoga is my way of firing the spark back in women. It's about reclaiming control and power by providing tools to master our beauty - in every sense of that word.
